DOTA-NHS-ester is a useful compound which facilitate the acid-amide coupling in the biological important molecules containing macrocyclic chelator- DOTA ( 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetraacetic acid).
The biological application includes in small animals, many different diagnostic and therapeutic applications, such as  MRI contrast agents, PET, SPECT, and CT.
It can also be used to label radiotherapeutic agents or imaging probes for the detection of tumors, peptides and antibodies labeling.
